Beading helps her relax in the evening and she hopes you'll appreciate the outcome of her efforts. She was constantly losing her glasses so she designed a few Eye Glass Leashes for her personal use. A few designs turned into many different designs as her friends and even people she encountered while out and about would inquire where she purchased the Eye Glass String. Needless to say, she is now making quite a few of them and takes special orders, too. Kathy's Eye Glass Leashes are also designed as jewelry so you can easily convert them into a necklace. Some of the longer leashes can even be worn as chokers. You simply remove the eye glass holders from the spring clasps and attach the clasps together for an instant necklace or choker. In order to wear it as a choker, you'll need to measure your neck size. Take a piece of string or thread and wrap it around your neck till then ends meet. Now measure from end to end on a ruler. As an example, if your neck measures 12", then times by 2 and you get 24". You'll need a leash just about an inch or so larger in order to wear it as choker and have some breathing room. All leashes can be worn as necklaces. The Main Beads on each leash are top-of-the-line gemstones, vermeil or sterling. She uses the swarovski line of crystal to add sparkle. Japanese seed beads are the most symmetrical and all findings are usually silver or 14kt gold filled which includes the clasps, spacers and crimps. Gold Vermeil and Sterling Silver are used for many of the spacers between beads. Gold Vermeil is 14kt gold plate over sterling silver. Samuels' has also made the actual eyeglass holders (those things you attach your glasses to) more visually pleasing by slipping a 14 kt gold filled bead or sterling silver bead in the center so that you can slide the bead up and down to hold your glasses snug within the holder. Each Eye Glass Leash arrives in its own jewelry bag with an extra set of eye glass holders.
