Additional Notes:
Am I Walking into Eternity along Sandymount Strand?
This original watercolour painting is my interpretation of this expression of James Joyce's (1882-1941) spoken by Stephen Dedalus as he wends his way from Dalkey towards Dublin in Ulysses.
Sandymount Strand is tidal and when the tide goes out very far and one does not look to left or right one gets the feeling of total isolation with only the sky meeting the horizon in the far distance.
In 1904 this whole area was quite bleak and appeared to go on forever.
Roger, from Blackrock, County Dublin, in Ireland is a full time painter.
He exhibits widely on the world wide web, in solo and group exhibitions as well as in Galleries.
"I specialize in watercolour paintings, which take their themes and titles from the wanderings and writings of James Joyce, Samuel Beckett and other Literary and Historical personalities".
