This painting is round and measures 60" in diameter. Statement of Purpose: My work is an expression of the nature of transformation, an active process of movement-a before and after. This is conveyed by applying layers of translucent and transparent paint on top of other layers. The spray from the drips and splashes dramatizes the energy of movement. The layering process does not depend on rectangular space for compositional tension; therefore I have eleminated the corners and paint on round canvases.
