The southwest and the unusual, dramatic landscapes one sees there never fail to inspire me. The colors can be so intense and moving and if one observes closely they see the eternal struggle of life and death in this almost surreal land of beauty and wonder. This Harris hawk may or may not catch the rodent hidden in the bottom of the arroyo. The story goes on and on. This scene is not a particular place, but brings together my images of this glorious land. This is a watercolor on Fredricks Watercolor Canvas and then sprayed with clear acrylic for protection. I love to paint watercolors and now I can also paint them on specially created watercolor canvases, which I also love. I like to watch my colors run and blend and stand out intensely against one another, which they do especially well on canvas.
