Additional Notes:
Henry Drexler, an award winning acrylic painter,
captures the landscape of CNY in a style that
combines impressionism and contemporary
realism. He paints recognizable scenes including
the rolling hills, aging barns and changing light of
the season. Overall, he has a keen eye and is a
master of color.
Artist Biography: Born in 1947 in Norwich NY
where he and his wife reside, Henry Drexler paints
primarily landscape. He has developed and written
about some very unusual and effective painting
techniques using large (2 oz) dispensing syringes
instead of brushes to extrude paint onto his
canvasses. These extruded acrylic paintings are
among his most inventive and successful works.
Though largely self-taught, Henry took several art
classes as a history major at Cornell University ('69)
and later at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute
in Utica, NY. He and his wife reside in Norwich, NY.
Drexler is the recipient of the 1994 Golden Artist
