Romany King is a beautiful Gypsy Vanner, a breed known for their feathery fetlocks and flowing mane and tail. In this painting by equine artist Karen Brenner as Romany King confidently trots forward a flowing pattern of blues and purples surrounds him. Karen Brenner has been combining her passion for horses and art in her business, Horse Paintings by Karen Brenner, since 1999. She enjoys traveling to horse farms and equine events to photograph all breeds of horses. She uses her photographs, as well as her four horses in her backyard, for reference material for her paintings. The watercolor flower paintings which she created in the 1980s greatly influenced her current style of painting. With an eye for luminous color, she creates her unique realistic oil paintings of horses using translucent layers of oils. Karen has a BFA degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
