"Tolstoy's Breakfast" is the second painting in a series of work this artist has done, using the three primary colors to achieve the incredible layering of color and patterns. The paints are poured onto the wet surface of the intial drawing. This process is repeated over and over until the desired effect is achieved. The artist then goes in and 'removes' color with white gouache. Each piece she has painted has been extremely controversial because of the unusual effect.
