Famous world wide for its anchovies, Santoña is a small fishing-village located in northern Spain, in the province of Cantabria and situated at the base of a small mountain named Buciero. This mountain is a natural reserve due to the uniqueness and variety of plant and animal life that can be found there. Laced with footpaths, it invites hikers from all over the world to enjoy its views and share in what is becoming an ever increasing endangered creature; nature untouched and unspoiled. There is a special light that shines there; a light that this Artist has somehow managed to capture and transfer to canvass. With bold unhindered strokes and dabs, he piles paint on top of paint creating the true “feel” of the surrounding vegetation, trees, thicket and stony ground; while in the background the soft, subtle feathering of the sky’s colors suggest the ocean just over the horizon.
