South African born painter, Narisa became involved in the art world at an early age. She participated in Young Art 86' displaying a figurative pastel. Her media use broadened to watercolor, then to acrylic and oil on canvas. At the age of 18, Narisa traveled to Europe where she learned to respect the detailed skill and beauty of the old masters focusing on the human figure. It was at this time she became focused as a serious painter and sold her first piece to a La Jolla store owner. In high school, she painted on everything and anything from jeans, surfboards, furniture to using icing to paint portraits on cakes. She freelanced as an artist painting on furniture at a local gallery and store and also apprenticed a local artist, faux-finishing and texturing private homes. While pursuing a bachelors in graphic design at San Diego State University, she took the equivalent to a fine art degree studying art history, illustration, painting and metal scu
